Tung Duong and MONO perform "Cosmic Signal" - a song that expresses the human desire to see the vast universe out there, and to see into one's own soul.
On November 16, singer Tung Duong released his latest album Multiverse - Da Vu Tru with 12 songs: Rebirth (Tang Duy Tan), Phoenix Wings (Nguyen Anh Tu), Human Gene Code (music by Nguyen Duy Hung, lyrics by Sa Huynh), Universe Signal (music by Nguyen Duy Hung, lyrics by Sa Huynh), Steal (NAN), Da Vu Tru (Antoine Lai), Men Don't Need to Cry (Antoine Lai), Old (Antoine Lai), Illusion (Do Hoang Long), Reflection (Tung Duong), Late Night (Antoine Lai), Sowing Seeds (Tung Duong).
The songs are all questions about human nature, survival and the meaning of life, the ability to escape from the narrow living space, to reach out to distant universes, to return to explore a universe within each person...
In particular, the song Reflection composed by Tung Duong has a neo-classical style, unlike the structure of a normal song. The entire song is a look back at oneself, reflecting on one's own being to see more clearly one's desires, right and wrong throughout life, and then sowing a seed that gradually grows, becoming a better version.
Young musicians have joined Tung Duong to create a musical performance, which includes classic standard elements such as the sound of a symphony orchestra, completely new materials from melodies to sound effects that stimulate the audience.
Multiverse's music has a strong art-pop spirit, with an avant-garde character, blending elements of pop, rock and many other new genres.
The 12 songs in Multiverse are divided into 2 chapters. The first 6 songs are a look at the vast universe that we can observe and witness its constant transformation. The second half of the album is a story about a universe within each of us, with all the mental states and reflections on life, on ourselves and the relationships in life. It is an “inner” universe, when we turn all our senses in to look back at our own being.
Both the outer and inner universes are presented in harmony in a smooth musical line from beginning to end. The listener is taken to moments of intense outpouring, like a universe in a violent explosion, but also moments of gentleness and softness, as if the soul is sublimated from the peace of the universe within each person.
Tung Duong continues to collaborate with his collaborators Nguyen Huu Vuong and Luu Quang Minh - who contributed to the success of the previous album Human . In addition, the album also features the participation of prominent young producers such as Drum7, Maiki, NAN, creating an interesting combination between the old and new generations.
Notably, in Multiverse , there is the participation of MONO. The singer said that he was very scared when accepting to collaborate with Tung Duong. However, the artist was surprised when Tung Duong created a free space for him to express his personality in the song Universe Signal .
''Previously, Tung Duong's image in MONO's eyes was somewhat serious, always neat and strong-willed. When they had the chance to 'collide', MONO saw that Tung Duong was also humorous, cheerful and open-minded. He also gave MONO many pieces of advice that MONO will never forget about his voice, singing style or musical thinking'' - singer MONO shared.
