According to The Verge , confirmation from Microsoft said that although the outage with Teams has been resolved by switching to backup servers, the company is still dealing with some ongoing issues before completely fixing the problem to operate optimally on the night of January 27.
Outage leaves users unable to access Teams for 8 hours
Previously, some users reported being unable to sign in to Teams, while others reported missing messages, missing attachments, and more. Even after being able to sign in, download messages, or view media content was restored, many users may still not be able to join calls, experience delays, or have trouble returning to calls.
Microsoft Teams was down for nearly four hours exactly a year ago. The company also experienced major outages in 2021, 2020, and 2019, but this eight-hour outage was significant.
In fact, it took Microsoft about 13 hours to fully resolve the issue. If you have access to the Microsoft Teams admin console, you can check the status at TM710344.
