Marriott wants to open more hotels and resorts in Vietnam

Sharing with Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh in the meeting on the afternoon of October 25, Mr. Anthony Capuano, Chairman and CEO of Marriott Group (USA), said that Vietnam has many advantages and potentials in tourism development thanks to its natural conditions, geographical location, and unique culture. According to him, more and more tourists want to return to Vietnam.

Therefore, the group wants to expand investment and long-term development in Vietnam. In the future, Marriott aims to open 20 more hotels and resorts in Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang , and Phu Quoc. Currently, Marriott manages 16 hotels and resorts under 8 global brands such as JW Marriott, Le Meridien, and Sheraton.

Responding to businesses, the Prime Minister affirmed that Vietnam always considers the US one of its top important partners, identifying economic, trade, investment and financial cooperation as the main pillar and driving force to promote relations between the two countries.

The Prime Minister said that Vietnam advocates rapid and sustainable tourism development, considering it an important economic sector. The Government always creates the most favorable conditions for investors in the spirit of harmonious benefits and shared risks.

He suggested that Marriott continue to expand investment in the tourism, hotel and resort services sector with large-scale projects suitable to Vietnam's conditions and attractive to international tourists; cooperate in training and developing high-quality human resources that meet international standards; connect Vietnamese tourism with the world, diversify products and tourism supply chains.

Mr. Anthony Capuano said that the company will seek to promote cooperation in the areas mentioned by the Prime Minister. Marriott will also employ more high-quality Vietnamese human resources in the hotel system and actively implement social security activities.

Marriott Group was founded in 1927 in the US, is a multinational corporation in hotel, tourism and accommodation services. The company owns the world's largest hotel chain with 8,000 accommodation locations and nearly 1.5 million rooms in 139 countries and territories.
