Whispering 'Springtime' by Hoang Vo

After nearly 15 years of dedication to painting, artist Hoang Vo had a chance to meet art lovers from the South through the exhibition “Springtimes” which opened on the morning of May 2 at the Ho Chi Minh City Fine Arts Association. The exhibition introduces more than 60 paintings in various materials: oil, acrylic, charcoal, mixed media… with genres ranging from portraits, full-body, sketches to abstractions.

The main theme of Spring is the image of young women in their prime, with realistic drawings. Each painting and portrait shows the unique features and personality of each character, not aiming to describe a general or representative character.

Painter Hoang Vo is currently a guest lecturer at the Faculty of Fine Arts, Ho Chi Minh City University of Architecture, and a member of the Watercolor Club of the Ho Chi Minh City Fine Arts Association. "I paint the way people listen. Sometimes whispering, sometimes exploding. Painting is the way I collect time, sadness, and even dreams that cannot be expressed in words," confided painter Hoang Vo.

The exhibition runs until May 8.
