(DN) - On July 31, the Vietnam Catholic Solidarity Committee of Dong Nai province held a conference to agree on a plan to reorganize and consolidate the organization and personnel of the Vietnam Catholic Solidarity Committee of Dong Nai province.

At the conference, the Organizing Committee announced the decision of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Catholic Solidarity Committee on the establishment of the Vietnam Catholic Solidarity Committee of Dong Nai province, from July 1, 2025, on the basis of the Vietnam Catholic Solidarity Committee of Dong Nai province and Binh Phuoc province before the merger.

At the same time, delegates attending the conference voted to approve the list of the Standing Committee of the Vietnam Catholic Solidarity Committee of Dong Nai province, including 19 members and 162 individuals participating in the Vietnam Catholic Solidarity Committee of Dong Nai province.

Priest Tran Xuan Thao, Vice President of the Vietnam Catholic Solidarity Committee, President of the Vietnam Catholic Solidarity Committee of Dong Nai province (before the merger) was elected by the conference as President of the Vietnam Catholic Solidarity Committee of Dong Nai province and 9 Vice Presidents, including: Priest Nguyen Minh Chanh, former President of the Catholic Solidarity Committee of Binh Phuoc province before the merger and Priests Le Van Nang, Priest Pham Son Lam, Priest Nguyen Duc Thanh, Priest Pham Ngoc Anh Tuan, Nun Nguyen Thi Phuong, Priest Nguyen Trong Xuan, Priest Vo Thanh Nhan, Priest Truong Hong Chuong.

Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Dong Nai province Nguyen Tan Phu congratulated the individuals elected to the Standing Committee of the Vietnam Catholic Solidarity Committee of Dong Nai province.

According to Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Dong Nai Province Nguyen Tan Phu, Dong Nai Province currently has over 1.3 million Catholics. The Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Dong Nai Province hopes that the Vietnam Catholic Solidarity Committee of Dong Nai Province will strengthen internal solidarity; encourage monks and lay people to live a good life and practice their religion, actively contribute to local development, participate in emulation movements, build cultural life, protect the environment, etc.
