Schedule for announcing the latest benchmark scores of 65 Northern universities

According to Hanoi University of Science and Technology, in order to implement the requirements for adjusting the 2025 admission and virtual filtering plan, the admission results for the Northern region (XTMB group) will be announced by this unit at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, August 22.

The above plan was proposed by Hanoi University of Science and Technology after the Ministry of Education and Training requested to adjust the admission and virtual screening plan in 2025. The number of virtual screenings nationwide increased from 6 times to 10 times.

According to the Ministry of Education and Training's admission schedule, at 12:30 on August 22, educational institutions will upload the 10th round of virtual filtering results. Thus, after 12:30 on August 22, schools will have the first round of admission benchmark scores.

This year, Hanoi University of Science and Technology continues to be assigned by the Ministry of Education and Training (MOET) to chair the Northern region's admission group (virtual filtering), including 65 higher education institutions.

The selection process (virtual filtering) aims to ensure that each candidate will only be admitted to a maximum of 1 wish (NV) in the list of NV candidates registered according to the principle of considering from NV1 to the last NV.

According to this unit, to prepare for virtual filtering, Hanoi University of Science and Technology coordinated to complete the software, adjust the process, and develop a general technical solution plan for the entire system.

Associate Professor, Dr. Vu Duy Hai, Head of Admissions and Career Guidance Department, Hanoi University of Science and Technology, said that virtual filtering is like a "test" for the information technology system of Hanoi University of Science and Technology.

Huge amounts of data are transmitted continuously in a short period of time, requiring stable infrastructure and strict backup and reconciliation processes. Along with that are backup scenarios for many unexpected situations.

“More importantly, the virtual filtering process must ensure absolute accuracy, fairness and transparency throughout the entire admission process. The final result is not only the list of successful candidates, but also the belief in the seriousness of the admission process,” said Associate Professor, Dr. Vu Duy Hai.

Thus, according to the new schedule above, many universities (especially in the North) will postpone the announcement of admission scores compared to the previous schedule.

Speaking to Dan Tri reporter, the representative of the Military School Admissions Board said that the school is still participating in virtual screening sessions of the Ministry of Education and Training. The announcement of scores will be delayed according to the time prescribed by the Ministry of Education and Training.

Previously, information about the benchmark scores of this school group appeared on social networks. However, a representative of the Admissions Board of the military school group said that this source of scores was not accurate.

According to Associate Professor, Dr. Dao Tung, Director of the Academy of Finance, the school is very "impatient" with the virtual filtering results through the sessions. According to the general schedule, the school will postpone the announcement of the 2025 benchmark scores by a few days according to regulations.

Previously, from August 17, the Ministry of Education and Training's admission system and two virtual filtering groups in the North and South had run data. In the following days, the virtual filtering system will filter twice a day nationwide until the end of today's virtual filtering.

In 2025, the number of candidates and registered wishes both increased sharply. Nationwide, there were more than 7.6 million registered wishes, accounting for more than 73% of the total number of candidates. On average, each candidate selected nearly 9 wishes.

The number of candidates registering for admission also skyrocketed by more than 115,000 compared to 2024, partly due to vocational colleges participating in the common admission system.

The benchmark score is more difficult to predict than previous years, which is a common opinion of many universities in this year's virtual filtering process due to major changes in the way it is organized and implemented. The virtual filtering system is sometimes slow and congested, and the time to carry out the processes is longer than planned.
