Responding to Dan Tri reporters this afternoon (August 12), the leader of the Hanoi Department of Education and Training said that this unit will carry out the opening ceremony in accordance with the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training and in accordance with local reality.

According to the Department of Education and Training, the opening ceremony is a festival to bring children to school. This is the first day that students of the first grades meet and get to know their teachers and school, so it is necessary to go to school.

"Students can attend the opening ceremony with their teachers at school before the live broadcast or watch it through a projector screen. This needs to be considered and calculated, then the Hanoi Department of Education and Training will have specific instructions for schools for this special opening ceremony," a representative of the Hanoi Department of Education and Training shared.

Regarding the holiday schedule, according to the guidance of the Hanoi Department of Education and Training, the 2025 National Day holiday for officials, civil servants and employees of the Department of Education and Training; kindergartens, primary schools, junior high schools, high schools, vocational education - continuing education centers, and secondary schools will be off for 4 consecutive days, starting from August 30 (Saturday) to September 2 (Tuesday).

For units that do not have a fixed Saturday and Sunday off schedule every week, the unit's actual situation will determine a suitable off schedule.

Hanoi Department of Education and Training noted that during the holiday, units need to strictly implement the direction and protection of agencies and schools; closely coordinate with local police to ensure absolute safety of facilities, equipment, fire prevention and fighting...

Previously, the Ministry of Education and Training issued a plan for the opening ceremony of the 2025-2026 school year. Specifically, this year's opening ceremony is very different, and will be held at the National Convention Center, Hanoi, at 8:00 a.m. on September 5.

The event was broadcast live on VTV1 and connected online to all educational institutions nationwide, from kindergarten to university.

In previous years, universities and colleges often took the initiative to organize opening ceremonies at their own time. However, this year, this simultaneous event not only demonstrated the unity and determination of the entire industry but also created a special mark.

The 2025-2026 school year is the first school year the whole country operates under a two-level government model.
