On the morning of April 16, in Ha Long City, the Provincial Federation of Labor had a meeting and worked with the Egyptian Public Utilities Trade Union to discuss union activities.
At the meeting, the leaders of the Provincial Federation of Labor introduced the potential, strengths and development of Quang Ninh province and trade union activities. Accordingly, Quang Ninh is one of the cradles of the Vietnamese working class and one of the places where trade union organizations were formed earliest. Up to now, the province has nearly 400,000 workers, civil servants, and laborers with 295,000 union members.
Inheriting and promoting tradition, trade unions at all levels in the province have affirmed their role in representing, caring for, and protecting the legitimate and legal rights and interests of union members by actively grasping the employment situation, life, and ideology of union members; at the same time, promptly advising Party committees at all levels, participating with the government in taking measures to remove difficulties for enterprises, solve employment, and implement policies and regimes for workers; contributing to the excellent completion of economic development goals and tasks. - society of Quang Ninh province and building a strong Vietnam Trade Union organization.
The leaders of the Egyptian Public Utilities Trade Union thanked the provincial Federation of Labor for their warm and enthusiastic welcome; at the same time, they gave an overview of the union's activities, focusing on protecting the rights and interests of over 500,000 union members working in enterprises in the fields of electricity, water, housing and wastewater treatment under the Egyptian Public Utilities Trade Union. The leaders of the Egyptian Public Utilities Trade Union expressed their hope that the two sides would continue to increase exchanges, organize visits to Egypt, and sign cooperation programs.
Leaders of the Provincial Labor Federation and the Egyptian Public Utilities Union also discussed a number of issues such as: How to manage union dues, invest in projects, organize activities for union members, etc.
