The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development has just issued Decision No. 1941/QD-BNN-VPDP dated June 25, 2024 on approving the list of science and technology tasks under the Science and Technology Program serving new rural construction for the period 2021 - 2025 (phase 2).

Accordingly, Lao Cai province was assigned to implement the project "Building a model of applying science and technology to promote agricultural tourism development to serve the construction of new rural areas in Lao Cai" with 3 models of applying science and technology to promote agricultural development associated with tourism, including: Model of linking medicinal herb production with tourism in Nam Mon commune, Bac Ha district; Model of producing high-quality temperate fruit trees associated with tourism development in Ta Van Chu commune, Bac Ha district; Model of agricultural production on terraced fields associated with tourism development in Lung Than commune, Si Ma Cai district and Proposal for a tourism program connecting the project models with existing tourist destinations in the region.

In addition, Lao Cai province needs to develop a report assessing the current status and potential and propose solutions to organize and implement agricultural tourism development models in Lao Cai in connection with tourism in the Northwest region.

Lao Cai applies science and technology to promote agricultural tourism development to serve new rural construction.

Publish 500 handbooks on construction, operation and agricultural production processes for agricultural development models associated with tourism in Lao Cai province.

Conduct training for 50 officials and 150 people on agricultural development associated with tourism in Lao Cai province.

Create 3 promotional video clips, introducing 3 agricultural models associated with tourism development. Create a website to introduce the project models.

According to the decision, the project will be implemented in the period 2024 - 2025.

When implemented, the project will make an important contribution to promoting the development of agricultural tourism in general and contributing to serving the construction of new rural areas in the province in particular in completing tourism targets.
