At the meeting of the Standing Committee of Nghe An Provincial Party Committee on November 30, the Director of Nghe An Tax Department reported two main reasons leading to increased tax debt in 2023.
First of all, due to the sluggish real estate market, real estate businesses are facing many difficulties. In addition, borrowing from banks is facing many obstacles, leading to land use debt... about 2,800 billion VND.
The second reason is environmental protection tax debt, due to difficulties in the petroleum business of key units nationwide. In Nghe An, there is a petroleum key enterprise whose tax debt has increased to 520 billion VND this year.
Mr. Nguyen Dinh Duc - Director of Nghe An Tax Department said: The total of the above 2 debts is more than 3,300 billion VND/3,500 billion VND of tax debt increased from the beginning of 2023 to present; the remaining 200 billion VND of tax debt falls on enterprises awaiting dissolution and bankruptcy procedures.
The Director of Nghe An Tax Department said that the industry has been determined in urging tax debt collection. In addition to measures according to procedures and regulations on tax debt management, the Department has also coordinated with all levels and sectors to implement additional measures.
Tax arrears have affected the budget revenue of Nghe An province. This year, the province's budget revenue still exceeds the estimate assigned by the Provincial People's Council, expected to reach 18,000 - 18,500 billion VND (including revenue from import and export). However, the above revenue is still lower than the figure achieved in 2022, which is 21,805 billion VND, the highest ever.
