Information from Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee, from August 8-12, 2025, in many areas in the area, there was moderate to heavy rain, some places had very heavy rain accompanied by tornadoes and strong gusts of wind. The consequences caused damage to people and property of the people. Preliminary damage is estimated at about 3.3 billion VND.

According to the Provincial People's Committee, based on the direction of the Provincial Party Committee, the Provincial People's Committee, the sectors and localities have promptly directed, inspected, quickly handled incidents and promptly supported affected people.

Regarding the landslide incident at alley 108 Hung Vuong street, Xuan Truong ward - Da Lat, after the incident occurred, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Head of the Provincial Civil Defense Command was present at the scene to directly direct the forces of the Provincial Military Command, Provincial Police, Ward People's Committee and members of the Provincial Civil Defense Command, and provincial rescue forces to deploy rescue work.

After finding the victim's body, the authorities have conducted an inspection and are taking the next steps. At the same time, they have directed support for the families of the deceased victims from the Provincial Disaster Prevention and Control Fund and other legal funding sources.

In addition, the management of vessels in the island sea area has been seriously implemented by the authorities. Control of vessels going out to sea and regular communication with vessels operating at sea are ensured.

Localities have deployed shock troops to check residential areas along rivers, streams, low-lying areas, and areas at high risk of flooding to assist and bring people to safe shelters.

Fallen trees are promptly handled to ensure smooth traffic. Broken electric poles are promptly repaired to ensure the restoration of the power grid.

In addition, localities have mobilized forces to support households to repair roofs and stabilize their lives soon. Along with that, they have supported people to overcome damage in agriculture such as greenhouses, net houses, seasonal flowers, etc. to stabilize production. Thanks to that, the damage caused by natural disasters has been minimized.

According to the Provincial People's Committee, localities are continuing to review and support people to overcome the consequences of natural disasters to propose support plans according to regulations.

Previously, from August 8-12, rain combined with whirlwinds in the province caused landslides on the embankment and blew off the roofs of many houses, damaging people's crops. The consequences resulted in 2 deaths (currently, detailed information of the victims has not been updated) in alley 108 Hung Vuong street, Xuan Truong ward - Da Lat.

In addition, there was 1 temporary house that was completely damaged (serving people to drink refreshments at alley 108 Hung Vuong street, Xuan Truong ward - Da Lat); 1 house on Lu Gia street (old ward 9 Da Lat) was flooded, leaving 1 person unable to get out. Immediately after receiving the information, Department PC07, Provincial Police sent 1 leader and 1 rescue vehicle to take the victim to a safe area.

Heavy rain and tornadoes in Lam Dong province have caused partial damage to 38 houses, mainly blowing off part of the roof. Perennial crops alone suffered heavy damage of 0.3 hectares; a welcome gate, a signboard and 3 cars were damaged...
