(NLDO) - The science and technology award aims to honor outstanding research, encourage creativity and innovation of young lecturers and students.
The Organizing Committee awarded the first prize of the Science and Technology Award to Dr. Vo Dang Khoa.
On November 9, at Ho Chi Minh City University of Education, the Ministry of Education and Training, the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, and the Vietnam Fund for Supporting Technical Creativity - VIFOTEC held a ceremony to summarize and award Science and Technology Awards to young lecturers and students in higher education institutions.
Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Van Phuc, Deputy Minister of Education and Training, assessed that with the research of young lecturers, the quality of research works and their applicability are higher than in previous years. With student research, the quantity and quality of scientific research by students are increasing. In particular, pioneering research works in new fields such as artificial intelligence, data science; increased publication in domestic and international journals; better English proficiency and preparation of documents.
The representative of the Ministry of Education and Training also said that the Ministry's orientation is to strengthen the connection between training and scientific research at higher education institutions; encourage research in new fields such as digital technology and green economy to meet the requirements of national development. The Ministry of Education and Training continues to improve policies and mechanisms to support scientific research at higher education institutions and promote international integration, improve the quality of research and international publications.
Information from the organizing committee said that the total number of topics participating in the award included 47 research projects and nearly 100 scientific publications and transfer products of young lecturers from 29 university education institutions. From these projects and products, the organizing committee selected 7 first prizes, 10 second prizes, 10 third prizes and 18 consolation prizes. Of the total 106 scientific topics of students entered the final round, the results were 18 first prizes and 85 second prizes.
The Science and Technology Award for Young Lecturers and Students in Higher Education Institutions is organized to honor outstanding achievements in scientific research, and at the same time encourage young lecturers and students to participate in scientific research, contributing to improving the quality of training and nurturing young scientific talents in higher education institutions. Through this award, scientific research activities of young lecturers and students are promoted, and at the same time, it is also a motivation to search for and discover new topics, promoting the practicality and creativity of young lecturers and students in studying and scientific research.
