Kick-off of the "For National Security" Fitness Congress and the People's Public Security Military and Martial Arts Competition

Pursuant to the Prime Minister's Decision on approving the Project on organizing activities to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the Traditional Day of the People's Public Security (PPP) of Vietnam (August 19, 1945 - August 19, 2025) and the 20th anniversary of the National Day for National Security Protection (August 19, 2005 - August 19, 2025), the Ministry of Public Security organized the 9th "For National Security" Sports Congress and the 6th PPP Military and Martial Arts Competition.

The Health Congress and Competition are held to propagate and educate cadres, soldiers and people about the 80-year tradition of building, fighting and growing of the Vietnam People's Public Security, to demonstrate the force and promote the emulation movement "For the security of the Fatherland".

The activity aims to encourage officers and soldiers to actively train, improve their political qualities and responsibilities, contributing to building a clean, strong, disciplined, elite and modern public security force.

This is also an opportunity to evaluate the development of the physical training and sports movement in the People's Public Security Forces in the 5-year period (2020 - 2025), and evaluate the results and quality of training in regulations, military training, and martial arts in the entire force.

The Health Congress and Competition will be held from August 2024 to August 2025 in Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Hue, Lam Dong and Phu Tho, with the opening ceremony taking place at 8:10 p.m. on July 26 at My Dinh Stadium.

Participants in the Health Games are officers, non-commissioned officers, students of the People's Public Security schools (except for civilian systems), police workers, labor contracts receiving salaries from the State budget, and individual members of the Vietnam People's Public Security Sports Association.

The participants of the military and martial arts competition are officers, non-commissioned officers, conscripts, and students of the People's Public Security schools.

The Health Congress has 115 events of 10 sports, including: 8 Applied Running events; 22 Applied Swimming events; 10 Healthy Police Soldier events; 4 Firefighting and Rescue events; 7-a-side Men's Football; Men's Volleyball; 15 Badminton events; 18 Table Tennis events; 12 Tennis events; 24 Chess events.

The competition of regulations, military and martial arts has 18 contents of 3 subjects, including: 4 contents of Public Security Regulations (theoretical and practical exams); 4 contents of Martial Arts and 10 contents of Military.

The final round of 7-a-side police football and table tennis, badminton, and chess will take place from July 24 to August 1 in Hanoi, with about 2,000 participants expected.
