Accordingly, Mr. Nguyen Tu Son, former Director of the Department of Education and Training of Gia Lai province, was prosecuted for violations in the implementation of projects to purchase a number of information technology application software to serve teaching and learning and financial activities of the department in the period 2015-2021.

Previously, through inspection work, Gia Lai Provincial Inspectorate discovered many violations in 14 projects implemented at Gia Lai Department of Education and Training such as: school management software - management of revenues and electronic invoices, E-learning teaching support software, 2018 primary school enrollment software... with a total amount of more than 33 billion VND.

The total number of violations in the above projects was 2.3 billion VND. The case was then transferred to the Investigation Police Agency and Gia Lai Provincial Police issued a decision to prosecute the case, at the same time prosecuted the accused, and temporarily detained for 4 months Mr. Truong Quy Suu, former Head of the Planning and Finance Department of this department, for violating regulations on management and use of state assets causing loss and waste.

During the period from April 2018 to October 2020, Mr. Nguyen Tu Son, as Director of the Department of Education and Training of Gia Lai, committed many violations in investment and procurement in 8/14 projects. As the head, Mr. Son lacked close inspection, supervision and direction, leading to the above violations.
