(PLVN) - On the afternoon of April 18, at the Quang Binh Provincial Library, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism coordinated with the Department of Education and Training to organize the Launching Ceremony in response to Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day; Reading Culture Ambassador Contest 2025.

This is also an activity towards the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025). These activities are spreading strongly, attracting special attention from all levels, sectors and the entire people, affirming the role and significance of reading culture in the current period, especially in the context of the country entering a new era.

Speaking at the launching ceremony, Mr. Mai Xuan Thanh, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Quang Binh, said that the organization of Book Day aims to affirm the position, role and importance of books in improving knowledge, skills, developing thinking, educating and training human personality; arousing passion for reading, forming reading habits, contributing to building a learning society.

The event aims to develop a reading culture, encourage reading habits in the community, especially among students, university students and young people. Thereby, contributing to spreading the reading culture in the community, attracting a large number of people to participate, creating a positive mark in the spiritual life of the people.

Thereby, promoting the development of reading movements, giving books, replicating good models, promoting reading culture in the community, especially in remote, isolated and border areas, contributing to building an advanced Vietnamese culture imbued with national identity.

In order for Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day to continue to spread widely, units and localities in the province have also focused on propaganda to raise public awareness of the position, meaning and importance of Books and Reading Culture in the community, especially among young people; research and apply knowledge from books to life.

In addition, localities, units and schools in the area also pay attention to investing, maximizing resources, joining hands to contribute to building a reading movement, towards a movement of learning and lifelong learning.

On this occasion, representatives of the Organizing Committee and businesses presented books to Quang Binh Provincial Library, with a total value of nearly 20 million VND.
