The groundbreaking ceremony was held simultaneously with 250 locations nationwide (of which Hanoi had 10 locations) to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the successful August Revolution (August 19, 1945 - August 19, 2025) and the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2025).
The investment project of Hanoi High-Tech Biotechnology Park (Silver Lake) is a key and strategic project, marking a new step forward for the Capital on the path of science - technology development, innovation and international integration, invested by Pacific Land Vietnam Joint Stock Company.
The project's groundbreaking is a step toward realizing the Party and State's major policies on science and technology development, especially in the field of biotechnology.
At the same time, the project is also a practical step to implement the policies and directions of the Prime Minister, Hanoi Party Committee and City People's Council, contributing to the implementation of Resolution No. 57-NQ/TU of the Politburo on breakthroughs in science and technology development, innovation and national digital transformation.
Mr. Patrick Gerard McKillen, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Pacific Land Joint Stock Company, committed that when implementing the project, the company will invest synchronously with the most modern infrastructure system in Southeast Asia, respect and protect the living environment of the community; closely coordinate with partners so that the project can soon come into effective operation, contributing to improving the competitiveness and quality of life of the Capital.
Director of the Hanoi High-Tech Park and Industrial Park Management Board Vu Xuan Hung said that the Hanoi High-Tech Bio-Tech Park project has a scale of 199.3 hectares, with a total investment of 7,400 billion VND, and is the first and only high-tech bio-tech park in Vietnam at present.
The project's goal is to build and operate modern technical infrastructure, attract high-tech projects, prioritizing key areas such as: biomedicine and biopharmaceuticals, high-tech agriculture, microbiology and environmental treatment, advanced biological equipment and solutions...
Mr. Vu Xuan Hung said that right after the groundbreaking ceremony, the Management Board will continue to closely coordinate with departments, branches and local authorities in compensation and site clearance, ensuring the legitimate rights of the people, creating clean land to hand over to investors on schedule for the project.
According to Mr. Hung, the Management Board will guide, urge and support investors to quickly and transparently complete administrative procedures, implement the "green lane" mechanism under the direction of the Hanoi People's Committee; closely monitor the construction process of technical infrastructure, ensure compliance with planning, synchronization, modernity, and connection with regional infrastructure; especially focus on green - sustainable factors.
Committed to accompanying the investor, the Project Management Board requests the investor to continue to promote the sense of responsibility, mobilize maximum resources, implement the project on schedule, ensure the quality of synchronous technical infrastructure, focus on green - sustainable factors, and harmony with the community.
The Hanoi High-Tech Biotechnology Park project is located at the western gateway of the capital, adjacent to Tay Thang Long Avenue. The project is oriented to develop according to the model of a multi-functional high-tech park, integrating subdivisions: R&D and high-tech production center, high-end housing complex, trade - service center, university - training institute, international hospital applying biotechnology.
The project is expected to become the core of the national high-tech network, attracting the world's leading corporations. When put into operation, the project will create a strong driving force for the development of the knowledge economy, forming a high-tech value chain, creating job opportunities, enhancing Hanoi's competitiveness; thereby affirming the central role of the capital in leading biotechnology and innovation in the region.
