The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee also assigned the People's Committee of Phu Quy district to coordinate with the Provincial Border Guard Command to visit, encourage, and provide material and spiritual support; create the best conditions to help fishermen in distress to stabilize soon, continue to go out to sea, and stick to the sea. At the same time, guide and support the owner of the distressed ship to complete insurance procedures according to the provisions of law.

The leaders of the Provincial People's Committee requested the Standing Committee of the Provincial Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention, Control and Search and Rescue to closely coordinate with the Central and local meteorological and hydrological forecasting agencies to regularly update forecast information and warn of types of natural disasters that often occur in the province, especially strong winds and big waves at sea, promptly warning local authorities and people to proactively prevent, avoid and respond.
As previously reported, at around 6:00 p.m. on April 1, fishing boat BTh 97877 TS, operating as a logistics vessel for catching aquatic resources, was operating in the sea area about 27 nautical miles south of Phu Quy Island, with coordinates 10o04'N - 108o56'E when it was damaged and sank. Immediately after receiving the news, the Provincial Border Guard Command directed the Phu Quy Border Guard Station to prepare the crew of CN 09 BP 11.19.01 with 14 officers and soldiers to go to the scene and mobilize a number of local fishing boats to organize and coordinate the rescue. After about 18 hours, with great efforts and a high sense of responsibility, the rescue forces successfully rescued 22 workers on the fishing boat in distress.
