With the consent of the People's Committee of Ha Tinh province and related departments and agencies, in July 2022, the Management Board of Ke Go Nature Reserve in coordination with VietnamFinance Investment Magazine started the project of the Temple of Heroic Martyrs at Ke Go Lake.

On August 28, 2023, the inauguration ceremony of phase I of the project was held; and today (April 28, 2025), after more than two years of construction, the Martyrs' Temple at Ke Go Lake was officially inaugurated. The total investment of the project is up to more than 9 billion VND, entirely contributed by organizations and individuals through the Financial Investment Magazine - VietnamFinance.
The Martyrs’ Temple at Ke Go Lake is associated with the feats and sacrifices of our soldiers and people on Transport Routes 21, 22 and the Libi Field Airport during the war against the US to save the country. In particular, the Libi Airport was the scene of fierce raids by the US Air Force on the night of January 7, 1973, causing many casualties among our soldiers and people.
The construction of the Temple of Heroes and Martyrs at Ke Go Lake is to honor, show gratitude, and demonstrate the morality of drinking water and remembering its source. Besides, it is a place for people, families of heroes, martyrs, comrades, and delegations to visit. This is also a place to educate the tradition for today's and future generations, forever remembering the merits of the heroes and martyrs who sacrificed at Ke Go Lake for the cause of national liberation and protection of the Fatherland.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Bui Nhan Sam, Deputy Head of the Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department of Ha Tinh province, said: "This is an extremely meaningful event, expressing deep gratitude to generations of fathers and brothers who have devoted and sacrificed for the independence and freedom of the Fatherland, for the happiness of the people."
“In the coming time, I propose that the Management Board of Ke Go Nature Reserve, together with investors, continue to call for and complete construction projects, organize strict management, effectively promote the value of the temple area, and educate historical traditions for future generations,” said Mr. Bui Nhan Sam.
At the ceremony, Mr. Hoang Anh Minh, Editor-in-Chief of VietnamFinance Investment Magazine, shared: “In the moments when the whole country is celebrating the 50th anniversary of unification, we feel even more grateful for the sacrifices of our uncles, brothers, and sisters, the sacrifices in exchange for peace, for a unified and developed country like today. That is the belief and motivation for us to strive to complete a huge amount of work in the past time.”
“The Ke Go Lake Martyrs’ Temple is a respectful offering of incense to the heroes and martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the Fatherland. With the spirit of gratitude, of the spirit of remembering the source of water, we have continued to make continuous efforts for nearly two years to be able to announce the overall inauguration of the project today,” said Mr. Hoang Anh Minh.
Mr. Hoang Anh Minh shared: "The construction of the temple is to pay tribute to the heroic martyrs who sacrificed their lives in the resistance war against the US to save the country. Without the sacrifice of you, our brothers and sisters, we could not have peace, we could not have a unified and developed country like today."

Mr. Nguyen Tien Dung, Director of Ke Go Nature Reserve Management Board, thanked the authorities at all levels for creating all favorable conditions for the temple construction process.
“I would like to express my deep gratitude to the sponsors, organizations, and benefactors, including the tireless efforts of Mr. Hoang Anh Minh - Editor-in-Chief of VietnamFinance Investment Magazine throughout the process. So that now, the souls of those who fell on this battlefield have a spacious, beautiful and worthy place to pay their respects to the great sacrifices of the heroic martyrs.”
“The martyrs’ shrine at Ke Go Lake will be a red address, a place to educate the glorious cultural and revolutionary traditions of the homeland for today’s and future generations. Along with that, this will be a spiritual and ecological destination for tourists from all over the world when they come to Ha Tinh,” said Mr. Dung.
Mr. Dung also said: “In the coming time, along with completing the system of regulations and rules, we will standardize the process of managing and protecting the temple to ensure the best response to the pilgrimage and incense offering needs of a large number of officials and people across the country. The authorities will create mechanisms and favorable conditions to be able to transport people to visit the temple, especially during important holidays to best promote the existing values of the temple in particular, and of the Ke Go Nature Reserve in general”.

The Temple of Heroes and Martyrs at Ke Go Lake was built in the traditional architecture of traditional spiritual works of the Vietnamese people. Including: Main shrine, Ta Vu House (ritual preparation house), Huu Vu House (exhibition house). In the temple grounds, there are 2 steles engraved with the names and hometowns of 32 martyrs and 30 young volunteers who sacrificed their lives at the Libyan Airport construction project in the past.
In addition to newly built items, the Martyrs' Temple in Ke Go Lake also preserves the relic of a shrine built in 2011. The Martyrs' Temple in Ke Go Lake was recognized as a provincial historical relic by the People's Committee of Ha Tinh province in 2014.
More than 50 years ago, to serve the resistance war against the US to save the country, Libi Field Airport was built in the Ke Go Lake area. This was a field airport, combined with the transport route 21-22 to create a traffic artery, ensuring support for the southern battlefield.
While the airport was under construction, on January 7, 1973, the US Air Force conducted a fierce raid with hundreds of tons of bombs dropped on the airport construction area, causing many casualties among soldiers, youth volunteers and people in the area. This was also the last bombing raid by the US Air Force on the North before the Paris Agreement was signed.
Peace was restored, the construction of Ke Go Lake filled with water, causing the Libi Airport to sink deep into the lake for decades.
Over the years, the staff of Ke Go Nature Reserve Management Board and many individuals and organizations have continuously searched for and connected information about Libi Airport, the names and addresses of martyrs who sacrificed their lives, related historical artifacts... to connect traditions, clarify historical values and also spread pride in a special historical address: Libi Airport - Ke Ho Lake.
These works have marked the achievements and silent sacrifices of officers and soldiers, youth volunteers and local people. Especially, at Libi airport,
In the past time, the Management Board of Ke Go Nature Reserve has quietly searched, connected, and met many witnesses to temporarily obtain a list of 30 youth volunteers and 32 martyrs who sacrificed their lives on this front.
