Inauguration of the essential infrastructure project to support the development of fruit and ornamental flower growing areas in Mo Cay Bac and Cho Lach areas

On the afternoon of August 19, the People's Committee of Vinh Long province solemnly held the inauguration ceremony of the essential infrastructure project to support the development of fruit and ornamental flower growing areas in Mo Cay Bac and Cho Lach areas.

Attending the ceremony were Ms. Ho Thi Hoang Yen - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; Mr. Nguyen Quynh Thien - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Ms. Nguyen Thi Be Muoi - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; former leaders of the province, departments, branches, local authorities and people in the project area.

The project includes Cai Hang culvert with a scale of B=15x2m, 30m wide, including 2 compartments, stainless steel doors, opened and closed by hydraulic cylinders, HL93 load-bearing traffic bridge 9m wide, connecting the main traffic route HL21, management house, green campus, operating electricity and lighting system. The project is from the medium-term public investment plan for the period 2021 - 2025 with a total investment of 150 billion VND.

After 2 years of construction, the completed project has promoted investment efficiency, built irrigation infrastructure, and essential traffic to develop agricultural production in a safe and sustainable direction, respond to climate change, rising sea levels, control salinity, store fresh water, and gradually close the Mo Cay Bac and Cho Lach areas for nearly 5,260 hectares of fruit-growing land.

Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Quynh Thien - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee emphasized the importance and significance of the project, acknowledged and commended the efforts of units and localities throughout the project implementation process; thanked the consensus and sharing of the people to help the project complete and achieve the expected progress. At the same time, he requested the management and operation unit to ensure safety, exploitation and maximize the effectiveness of the project.

The essential infrastructure project to support the development of fruit and ornamental flower growing areas in Mo Cay Bac and Cho Lach is one of the three key projects of the province to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the successful August Revolution (August 19, 1945 - August 19, 2025) and the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2025). Thereby, creating a vibrant competitive atmosphere among all cadres, civil servants, public employees and people in the province, contributing to spreading national pride and affirming the efforts of local authorities in developing irrigation, transportation, economic and tourism infrastructure.
