This year, the total number of visitors and accommodation increased by about 21% over the same period (in 2023, it was 798,100 visitors and accommodation).

According to the leader of Khanh Hoa Department of Tourism, the April 30 and May 1 holidays are the right time in early summer for long-distance travel with groups and families, and are an opportunity for tourist attractions in Nha Trang to attract domestic visitors.

Although the high airfare has affected the travel of domestic tourists, with the open highway from Ho Chi Minh City to Nha Trang, it is very convenient for tourists from the southern provinces to travel by road to Khanh Hoa.

In addition to road and air, rail is also chosen by domestic tourists to travel during this year's holiday. Many trains have been increased.

According to information from Cam Ranh International Airport, from April 27 to May 1, the total number of takeoffs and landings at Cam Ranh International Airport reached about 711, an increase of 36.7% over the same period in 2023.

Of which, there were 422 international take-offs and landings, an increase of 139% over the same period in 2023 (212 arrivals and 210 departures), an average increase of 7 flights/day compared to the days before the holiday.

Domestic flights had 289 takeoffs and landings, down 20% compared to the same period in 2023 (143 arrivals and 146 departures); an average increase of 7 flights/day compared to the days before the holiday.

Phu Yen tourism revenue during April 30 and May 1 holidays increased by more than 56% compared to last year

Phu Yen tourism boomed and grew strongly during the April 30 and May 1 holidays, when total revenue from tourists was estimated at VND131 billion, up 56.3% over the same period last year. Of which, accommodation revenue reached VND22.14 billion, up 45.7% over the same period last year.

On May 1, Ms. Nguyen Thi Hong Thai - Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Phu Yen province - said that from April 27 to May 1, the total number of tourists to Phu Yen reached 54,750, an increase of 28.5% compared to the same holiday last year, including 830 international visitors, an increase of 45.6% compared to the same period last year.

According to Ms. Thai, the total number of guests staying reached 36,900, an increase of 33.2% over the same period last year, including 620 international guests, an increase of 37.7% over the same period last year.

"The average room occupancy rate is about 60%, especially at some large-scale hotels and hotels near the sea, the room occupancy rate on April 28 and 29 reached about 80 - 100%," said Ms. Thai.

Notably, total revenue from tourists reached VND131 billion, up 56.3% over the same period last year, of which accommodation revenue reached VND22.14 billion, up 45.7% over the same period last year.

However, due to the extremely hot weather, with temperatures reaching 40 degrees Celsius in some places, combined with high airfares, the number of domestic visitors decreased significantly compared to the same period in 2023.

The total number of visitors and tourists staying in Quang Nam during this holiday is estimated at 233,000, down 5% over the same period last year. Of which, international visitors are estimated at 132,000, up 10% over the same period last year, and domestic visitors are estimated at 101,000, down 19% over the same period.

Room occupancy rates in the province reached 75-90%, of which 3-5 star hotels reached 80-100%, with the highest number of guests from April 28 to April 30.

Revenue from tourism and accommodation during the 5-day holiday from April 27 to May 1 is estimated at 600 billion VND.
