The event brought together many artists, special guests, and veterans to introduce the journey of recreating the heroic scenes of the 81-day and night battle to protect Quang Tri Citadel in 1972.

Inspired by the script of writer Chu Lai, Red Rain is a large-scale revolutionary war film, with a message of gratitude and arousing national pride. Director, Meritorious Artist Dang Thai Huyen emotionally shared: "We do not consider this a simple film, but a stick of incense sent to the soldiers who sacrificed for national independence."

She added about the harsh filming process in Quang Tri: “On windy and rainy days, the ground was so soft that the camera could not move, but no one was discouraged. There was a scene where soldiers crossed the river under artillery fire, when they were close to death, they could only call out “Mom, wife”… which made the whole crew unable to hold back their tears.”

The introduction also had the presence of historical witnesses such as Colonel Dao Van Phe, Major Tran Trong Can... who fought at the Citadel in the past. Their honest and emotional sharing of war memories made the audience silent.

An emotional highlight of the program was the performance of actor Nguyen Hung, who played the role of soldier Hai, who emotionally performed the song What Could Be More Beautiful , considered a musical epic about the soul of a soldier amidst the flames of war.

With a powerful and emotional voice, the performance brought a moment of stillness, recalling the image of soldiers in their twenties who vowed to dedicate their youth for the peace of the Fatherland. The song seemed to extend the emotional flow of the film, where losses and sacrifices were expressed in deep gratitude.

Speaking at the event, Major General Nguyen Xuan Thuy, Deputy Director of the Propaganda Department, highly appreciated the efforts of the film crew and affirmed that Red Rain will be a highlight in the series of activities celebrating the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day September 2. The representative of the People's Army Cinema said that the entire scene of the Citadel was built in 10 weeks, many real weapons were used to increase the authenticity.
