The contemporary dance Reflection is a duo dance by artist Xuan Le, a French-Vietnamese choreographer and dancer, performed with Taiwanese artist Shihya Peng.
Enchant the audience with roller skates
For 50 minutes, the entire audience in the Idecaf auditorium was captivated by the duo Xuan Le and Shihya Peng with their captivating and metaphorical performance.
Gently gliding on roller skates as if in a state of weightlessness, Xuan Le takes the audience along with a stream of intense yet extremely calm energy.
What makes the performance special is the fusion of contemporary dance, hip hop, roller skating and visual arts.

Through this special combination, choreographer Xuan Le raises questions about the duality of being through poetic and subtle body language.
Xuan Le and his co-star lead the audience on a journey to find their own identity.
It all starts with the looks, the movements, and the choreography that pays attention to every detail, to every finger, breath, reaction of the two bodies...

When artists are supported by the government
When the play ended, the audience was still amazed because they were still "floating" with the artist. In the discussion that followed, many people asked questions about the inspiration and creative process of the play.
He shared about the choreography process: "Shihya and I spent more than 4 months choreographing the performance.
I have always questioned the origins of humans and our relationship to the movements of life.
The play's title Reflection represents the duality of being. In life we always have to face others and face ourselves."
Some audiences questioned whether similar plays would attract large audiences elsewhere, as they did at the Idecaf auditorium on the evening of May 29.
Xuan Le said that in France, the government supports cultural activities a lot, artists can freely create and bring plays to the public without thinking much about making a living from their profession.

Xuan Le is the winner of the French championship and the 6th place in the world skating championship (freestyle category) in 2009. He then became interested in dance and founded the Xuan Le Dance Group in 2016.
The work Reflect has been performed in many places around the world. After the performance in Ho Chi Minh City on the evening of May 29, sponsored by the French Institute in Vietnam, Reflect will be presented to audiences in Hue on June 1 and in Hanoi on June 4.
This tour marks Xuan Le’s fifth visit to Vietnam. Each trip is filled with emotion and allows him to explore a part of his Vietnamese roots.
