This activity is organized to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the complete liberation of the South and national reunification and to welcome the United Nations Vesak Day 2025.
According to the Organizing Committee, the Buddhist art photography contest was launched from January 20 to March 31, 2025, attracting 1,446 entries from 216 photographers from all over the country. The total value of prizes and photo royalties is up to 114.5 million VND.
Through the contest, the Organizing Committee wishes to promote the spirit of artistic creativity and spread the humanistic and peaceful values originating from Buddhist wisdom to the community at home and abroad. The content of the works focuses on expressing profound themes such as: The humanistic values of Buddhism; the spirit of compassion and wisdom; the message of peace between humans and nature; Buddhist cultural heritage; monastic life; the positive influence of Buddhism on society; the meaning of Vesak; as well as the harmonious relationship between humans and the environment.
The jury of the contest includes Venerable Monks, Venerable Monks and prestigious photographers such as Venerable Thich Tam Duc, Venerable Thich Nhat Tu, Artist Nguyen Hong Nga, Artist Dong Duc Thanh... After a serious and objective evaluation process, the Organizing Committee awarded 1 First Prize, 2 Second Prizes, 3 Third Prizes and 6 Encouragement Prizes to outstanding works.
In addition to the award ceremony, the exhibition also introduces 107 outstanding works, serving the needs of contemplation and enjoyment of monks, nuns, Buddhists and the general public on the occasion of Vesak 2025. The winning works will be selected, printed in photo books and widely published on media channels, aiming to spread the spirit of compassion, harmony and wisdom of Buddhism to the international community.
