iOS 17.1.2 is coming to iPhone users soon

Báo Thanh niênBáo Thanh niên21/11/2023

According to PhoneArena , iOS 17.1.2 was released shortly after Apple released iOS 17.1.1 to address an issue that caused NFC on iPhone 15 series models to fail when charging using the wireless charging system in BMW and Toyota Supra vehicles. Without NFC, affected iPhone models would not be able to use Apple Pay, and some would receive an error message saying that Apple Pay could not be set up on their devices.

iOS 17.1.2 will be released next week

Affected devices were required to use Apple Service Toolkit 2 software to restore the NFC chip, but some were told their iPhones would need to be opened for repairs or some hardware replacement. This prompted BMW to issue a warning to iPhone 15 series owners not to use wireless charging in their vehicles until Apple fixed the issue.

The iOS 17.1.2 update could be released next week as Apple traditionally does not release any new software builds during Thanksgiving week in the US as many Apple employees are off for the week. Last year, a similar situation happened with iOS 16.1.2, which was only officially released on November 30.

As for iOS 17.2, Apple is now rolling out its beta updates, with the final version expected to arrive in mid-December. The update adds support for space video recording on iPhone 15 Pro models, which can be viewed with the Vision Pro headset once it launches. A new Journal feature will be available alongside new Clock and Weather widgets, and there's an option for iPhone 15 Pro users to open the Translate app by holding down the Action button on the phone's screen.
