Inauguration of Ho Chi Minh City Center for Creative Entrepreneurship

DNVN - On August 23, Ho Chi Minh City inaugurated the Center for Creative Entrepreneurship (No. 123 Truong Dinh, Xuan Hoa Ward). The event is considered an important milestone in completing the supporting infrastructure, creating a solid foundation for the city's startup ecosystem to reach national and international levels.

The Center for Innovative Startups (SIHUB) is expected to become a new symbol of the city's determination in implementing Resolution 57-NQ/TW of the Politburo on the development of science, technology, innovation and national digital transformation. Not only providing modern infrastructure, the center is also a focal point for organizing activities, providing legal support, intellectual property, digital transformation, capital calling and investment connection for the startup community.

Speaking at the ceremony, Vice Chairwoman of Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Tran Thi Dieu Thuy said that the city currently has 97 universities and colleges, more than 450 science and technology organizations and 134 modern laboratories. This is an important foundation for forming a dynamic startup ecosystem, with an estimated value of 5.22 billion USD, ranking third in Southeast Asia after Singapore and Jakarta. Some fields such as Fintech, Edtech, e-commerce and blockchain of the city have reached the global top 100.

Leaders of Ho Chi Minh City Department of Science and Technology signed a memorandum of cooperation with partners at the ceremony.

Currently, Ho Chi Minh City accounts for about 50% of the total number of startups in the country with more than 2,000 startups, more than 100 venture capital funds and 20,000 individuals working in the field of science and technology. The city's leaders affirmed that they will continue to welcome and accompany global technology corporations such as AMD, NVIDIA, Qualcomm, Mitsubishi and international partners from the US, UK, Australia, Korea, Singapore, etc.

“The city is committed to creating favorable conditions for businesses, investors and the startup community to develop. Let’s work together to build projects with long-term vision, bringing high and sustainable added value,” Ms. Tran Thi Dieu Thuy called.
