Speaking at the press conference, journalist Phung Cong Suong - Editor-in-Chief of Tien Phong newspaper, co-Head of the Organizing Committee - emphasized: "The National Marathon and Long Distance Championship of Tien Phong newspaper goes beyond the framework of a pure sports tournament and has grown steadily each year to become a series of particularly meaningful political - economic - social - cultural - sports - tourism events, contributing to promoting development in each locality where the tournament visits".

The 2025 tournament will take place from March 28, with many meaningful activities such as: offering incense to commemorate heroic martyrs at Truong Son Cemetery, Road 9 Cemetery, Quang Tri Ancient Citadel; releasing flower lanterns on Thach Han River; presenting gratitude houses in Quang Tri province. In particular, the highlight of the tournament is the national flag raising ceremony at Hien Luong - Ben Hai, a historical site associated with the pain of national division.

"After half a century, also on the banks of Hien Luong - Ben Hai, thousands of athletes and Miss Vietnam 2024 contestants will sing together the song 'Marching Song', spreading pride, gratitude and appreciation for the image of the united Vietnam", journalist Phung Cong Suong shared.

The total prize value of the 66th Tien Phong Newspaper National Marathon and Long Distance Championship - 2025 is up to nearly 700 million VND in cash, along with many other valuable prizes. This year's tournament has a total of 131 individual and collective prizes, one of the tournaments with the most diverse prize system in the national athletics village.

"With all our enthusiasm for the Fatherland and responsibility for the development of our country's sports, we believe that, with careful preparation, the 2025 tournament will not only be a day for athletes to conquer the peak, but also a day when the determination, strength and resilience of the Vietnamese people shine," journalist Phung Cong Suong affirmed.
