In 2023, implementing the theme "Resolute action, disciplined responsibility, exploiting potential, comprehensive development", besides opportunities and advantages, Huong Hoa district encountered many difficulties and challenges that greatly affected all aspects of life, economy and society. However, with drastic efforts, Huong Hoa district achieved important results, with 7/9 basic socio-economic targets reaching and exceeding the plan.

Among the achieved and exceeded targets, the outstanding ones are the total social investment capital of more than 3 trillion VND, exceeding the plan by 3.6%; the total production value of the whole district reached more than 22 trillion VND; the total state budget revenue was more than 1,000 billion VND, creating new jobs for 1,691 workers; the rate of trained workers was 49.90%; the poverty rate decreased to 22.01%, down 4.44% compared to 2022; the average income per capita reached 39.88 million VND. Culture - society, education - training continued to have positive changes.

The special friendship with Lao districts is always focused on; national defense and security are strengthened, national border security is maintained, political security and social order and safety are ensured in the area.

In particular, in 2023, the district focused on directing and successfully organizing a series of activities to celebrate the 55th anniversary of Khe Sanh Victory, the liberation of Huong Hoa, and successfully completed the district and commune-level defense area drills.

2024 is the year to continue implementing the resolutions of the Party Congresses at all levels and the 5-year socio-economic development plan for 2021 - 2025. Accordingly, the district sets out basic targets, which are: total state budget revenue of over 830 billion VND, of which local budget revenue is 75 billion VND; average income per capita of 43 - 45 million VND/person, the poverty rate reduced by 3 - 3.5%, creating new jobs for 1,300 - 1,400 workers, the rate of trained workers is 49.98%, the rate of participation in universal insurance is 97%, the total grain output is 9,100 - 9,200 tons, the forest coverage rate is 44%, the rate of population using clean water is 80.5% ...

To successfully implement the above targets, the district focuses on leading and directing the drastic and synchronous implementation of key tasks. In particular, synchronously and effectively implementing solutions to restructure the agricultural sector in association with new rural construction.

Continue to focus on developing modern commodity agriculture. Encourage the development of organic agriculture, adapting to climate change.

Promote administrative procedure reform, trade promotion, call for investment attraction, develop industries and handicrafts with modern technology. Encourage and create conditions to attract economic sectors to invest in developing trade and service businesses.

Promote, advertise, attract large investors to invest in tourism products, effectively and sustainably exploit tourism types and products that are the strengths of the district. Continue to strongly improve the investment and business environment; maximize and effectively use resources for development investment, especially capital sources for national target programs. Speed ​​up construction progress, site clearance, and implementation of procedures for key projects of the district.

Perform well the task of collecting state budget. Strengthen tax inspection and examination, handle tax arrears. Urge to accelerate the disbursement of public investment capital to ensure the completion of the 2024 plan.

Strengthen management and effective use of land and resources; protect the environment; proactively and effectively respond to climate change, prevent, combat and mitigate natural disasters.

Comprehensively and synchronously develop cultural and social fields, ensure social security and welfare, improve the material and spiritual life of people, especially in remote, isolated and border areas.

Implement well the work of health care and medical examination and treatment for the people. Promote the work of job creation and labor export; implement well the regimes and policies for the families of martyrs, war invalids and people with meritorious services to the revolution.

Continue to carry out fundamental and comprehensive innovation in education and training; effectively implement the General Education Program. Improve the quality and effectively use human resources, education and training; promote innovation, application and strong development of science, technology and digital infrastructure.

Carry out well the information and propaganda work on events and festivals of the homeland and country; ensure network security, information security and information and communication infrastructure; effectively implement the National Digital Transformation Program. Improve the quality and effectiveness of implementing national target programs.

Promote administrative reform; improve the effectiveness and efficiency of state management. Promote the development of e-Government and digital Government. Strengthen inspection, examination, and prevention of corruption, waste, and negativity throughout the political system.

Improve the effectiveness of citizen reception, complaint and denunciation settlement; strictly implement the responsibility of the leader in receiving citizens. Strictly organize the implementation of decisions on complaint settlement and denunciation handling that have come into legal effect.

Continue to implement solutions to consolidate and strengthen national defense and security; build a solid all-people national defense posture closely linked with the people's security posture, firmly protecting national independence, sovereignty and interests.

Direct the resolute fight against all types of criminal offenses and social evils. Implement synchronous and effective solutions to combat and prevent the illegal transportation, storage, purchase, sale and use of narcotics.

Continue to thoroughly grasp and well implement the foreign policies and guidelines of the Party and State, maintain the Vietnam - Laos solidarity and friendship, carry out good friendly relations with neighboring districts, maintain national border security and sovereignty, ensure political security, social order and safety in the area.
