Mr. Nguyen Minh Triet - Secretary of the Central Youth Union, President of the Central Vietnam Student Association - shared that towards the 70th anniversary of Dien Bien Phu Victory, the journey "Dien Bien Phu - Aspiration for the Country" will have the participation of more than 400 delegates to Dien Bien.
He said this is a political activity with great influence, an opportunity to educate young people about the significance of the historic victory of Dien Bien Phu, especially an opportunity for young people to meet and interact with historical witnesses of the Dien Bien Phu campaign.
The journey started from April 24 to April 27 to propagate and educate cadres, union members, and young people about the purpose, significance, historical value, and great stature of the Dien Bien Phu Victory.
The departure ceremony for the "Dien Bien Phu - Aspiration for the Country" journey will be held on April 24 at the historical site of the Hanoi Flag Tower. Delegates will visit President Ho Chi Minh's mausoleum, offer incense at the Bac Son Monument for Heroes and Martyrs, and offer incense at the house of General Vo Nguyen Giap.
Immediately after the departure ceremony, the delegates participating in the journey will divide into three groups heading to Dien Bien.
The first journey branch "Dien Bien Phu - Aspiration for the Country" with 44 delegates departed from Hanoi, passed through the provinces of Hoa Binh, Son La and gathered in Dien Bien.
The second journey "I love my Fatherland" was deployed by the Vietnam Youth Union at all levels, selecting 120 delegates, divided into two routes: route 1 going through the provinces of Hoa Binh, Son La and route 2 going through the provinces of Yen Bai, Lao Cai, Lai Chau. Both routes gathered in Dien Bien province.
The third journey "Students with aspirations for the country" was implemented by the Central Committee of the Vietnam Student Association with the participation of 70 outstanding students and outstanding Association officials nationwide.
The program will award prizes for the contest to learn about the 70th anniversary of Dien Bien Phu Victory and launch a contest to learn about the 80th anniversary of the Vietnam People's Army with the participation of Party and State leaders.
In addition, the Central Council of the Young Pioneers will also organize the Dien Bien Young Soldiers Festival, which will be deployed in all levels of the Young Pioneers' organization with a series of activities held in Dien Bien province with the participation of 200 young delegates and 64 typical delegates in charge.
On April 26, the delegations will gather in Dien Bien Phu city, Dien Bien province to offer incense to commemorate the heroic martyrs at the A1 National Martyrs Cemetery, attend the art program "Dien Bien Phu - Aspiration of the Country", award prizes to the contest to learn about the 70th anniversary of Dien Bien Phu Victory, launch the contest to learn about the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army and the 35th anniversary of National Defense Day.
The total resources to support localities within the framework of the journey are more than 7.6 billion VND. Of which, the resources to support Dien Bien province are nearly 6.4 billion VND. The resources to support the provinces of the Northwest cluster on the route are more than 1.2 billion VND.
