National online conference on foreign non-governmental work in 2024
The conference agreed that in 2023, the world and regional situation will develop rapidly and complicatedly; the impact of the post-Covid-19 pandemic is a major issue for all countries, international organizations and foreign non-governmental organizations.
In that context, people's foreign affairs, including foreign non-governmental work, continue to be given importance by the Party and State. Central and local agencies, departments, ministries and branches have simultaneously innovated and clearly enhanced the effectiveness of management and mobilization of foreign non-governmental organizations.
The activities of foreign non-governmental organizations are basically implemented in accordance with the Party's guidelines and policies, complying with the State's policies and laws; coordinating well with Vietnamese agencies and partners in the implementation process, contributing to the socio-economic development results of the country in general and localities in particular.
In 2023, the value of aid disbursed to Vietnam by foreign non-governmental organizations and foreign agencies, organizations and individuals will reach more than 228.7 million USD, an increase of 4.9 million USD compared to 2022. This demonstrates the great efforts of ministries, branches and localities in coordinating the work of mobilization, organization, management and implementation.
The implementation of activities of foreign non-governmental organizations contributes greatly to foreign affairs, especially people-to-people diplomacy. It demonstrates the support and cooperation of international partners and friends for efforts in national development.
