Signs of improvement
In recent times, the education sector has received attention from the province, support and coordination from departments, branches, sectors, organizations and localities. Thanks to that, the school system has been invested in and expanded, many new projects have met national standards, and teaching equipment is more modern, meeting the requirements of innovative teaching methods. The team of managers and teachers has been standardized and improved; policies to support teachers and students have been focused on, especially in remote areas. The province's educational results have improved in many aspects: Every year, the high school graduation rate reaches about 98%, approximately the national average; the score distribution of graduation exams has improved; the average university admission rate is over 75%. As a unit that always achieves a 100% high school graduation rate, every year many students are admitted to prestigious universities, including many national excellent students who are directly admitted, Le Quy Don High School for the Gifted (Nam Nha Trang Ward) has implemented many specific and synchronous solutions to improve the quality of teaching and learning each year. In addition, the school will establish and develop academic clubs for students; promote the leadership and management role of professional group leaders in innovating teaching methods. The school's goal is not only to improve the quality of key education but also to contribute to raising the educational status of the province".
In the past 5 years, Nguyen Trai High School (Phan Rang Ward) has achieved encouraging results. Striving for breakthrough
According to comrade Vo Hoan Hai - Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Director of the Department of Education and Training, putting Khanh Hoa in the top 10 localities with the highest rate of high school graduates and students admitted to public universities nationwide is not an easy goal to achieve, especially when the provincial education sector still has many difficulties in terms of facilities and teaching equipment; shortage of teachers, unbalanced graduation exam results between subjects; uneven university and college admission rates among localities... Therefore, the whole sector must strive to implement drastic, synchronous and substantive solutions to create a strong shift in education quality.
Currently, the province has 786 schools from kindergarten to high school, 9 centers, 4 universities, 1 academy, 2 branches and training facilities of universities, 7 colleges, 11 secondary schools. The total number of students is more than 446,200; the number of managers and teachers is more than 24,000 people, most of whom meet or exceed the standards in terms of training level.
To achieve the above goals, the education sector will prioritize the budget and increase social mobilization to renovate and upgrade schools, strive to build a new high school each year, build more classrooms for educational facilities that are lacking, and supplement teaching equipment to meet the requirements of teaching 2 sessions/day. In addition, expand scholarship policies, support poor students, excellent students, increase rewards for students who win prizes in national and provincial competitions for excellent students, valedictorians who graduate from high school and achieve high scores in university entrance exams, and increase the level of treatment for teachers who directly teach and nurture excellent students.
The sector will also focus on developing and improving the quality of teachers and managers, organizing professional seminars, and building a specific roadmap to improve the quality of education each school year. At the same time, it will compile and circulate internal high school graduation exam review materials, combine inter-school mock exams, and provincial mock exams for students to practice their skills; strengthen inspection and supervision of the implementation of the 2018 General Education Program; promote the application of information technology and digital transformation in education; build career counseling programs to help students choose subjects, admission combinations, and universities that match their abilities and strengths. "I hope that the province will continue to pay attention to and increase investment resources for education; departments, branches, and localities will work together to help the education sector successfully implement the strategic goals set out by 2030," said Mr. Vo Hoan Hai.
