Majored in culture but claimed to be a doctor to treat patients

On October 1, according to information from the Gia Lai Provincial Department of Health , an interdisciplinary working group consisting of functional forces of the Gia Lai Provincial Department of Health and the Gia Lai Provincial Police recently conducted a surprise inspection of a facility called "Ho Chi Minh City University of Medicine Clinic" at 75 Nguyen Tat Thanh, Hoa Lu Ward, Pleiku City. At the time of the inspection on the afternoon of September 30, a person claiming to be Dr. Vo Minh Thanh was examining and consulting a patient with varicose veins.

When the inspection team requested to verify the information, this person did not present valid documents for practicing the profession as prescribed.

Mr. Vo Minh Chien (sitting) claims to be a doctor to consult and treat patients.

After many hours of working, the person claiming to be doctor Vo Minh Thanh admitted that his real name was Vo Minh Chien (28 years old), residing in Chi Cong village, Cu An commune, Dak Po district ( Gia Lai ).

Mr. Chien said that he graduated with a degree in culture and did not have a medical degree. However, he claimed to be a doctor to consult and examine customers under the guidance of the facility manager.

Faced with the above violations, the interdisciplinary working group drew up a record and requested the facility " Ho Chi Minh City University of Medicine and Pharmacy Clinic" to immediately stop the violation and stop all activities related to the field of medical examination and treatment.

Previously, Ms. NTTT (residing in Gia Lai province) sent a complaint to the authorities about "Ho Chi Minh City University of Medicine Clinic".

According to the complaint, Ms. T. went to the above clinic to be examined and treated by Dr. Vo Minh Thanh. After receiving the doctor’s advice and treatment, the family paid about 18 million VND. After many weeks of treatment, her condition did not improve.

"Through observation, the clinic did not have a practice license. Therefore, I sent a letter of complaint to the relevant agencies to monitor, investigate, report and advise people to avoid losing money and wasting time and effort," said Ms. T.
