Trem River (also known as Tram Trem River) is a small branch of Ong Doc River , winding through Chac Bang Canal . Not as wide as Tien River, Hau River, Trem River evokes a gentle, simple look like the people of the West. It is the natural boundary dividing U Minh forest into two regions: U Minh Thuong (belonging to An Giang province) and U Minh Ha (belonging to Ca Mau province). Like that, for many generations, the river has quietly flowed among the dense cajuput forest canopy, carrying with it many wonders of the nature of the Southern forest land.

Local people not only consider the Trem River as a part of their lives, but also as the flesh and blood of their homeland. The water nourishes the Melaleuca forests, keeping the forests green all year round, a home to hundreds of species of birds, animals, fish, and shrimp.

Now, the river is more widely known through an attractive destination formed on the river basin: Song Trem Eco-tourism Area, about 110 hectares wide with most of it being primeval cajuput forest several decades old. Seen from above, this place looks like a lush green carpet stretching far and wide, full of vitality.

Entering the tourist area , the first thing that attracts visitors is the path between two rows of tall cajuput trees. The wind blows gently through the leaves, rustling like the forest whispering stories, the air is cool and fresh. This tourist area is home to more than 300 different species of animals and plants. Going deep into the forest canopy, visitors can admire many rare species of birds, interestingly the sight of monkeys in groups of 3-4 boldly stepping out as if to welcome.

Although Song Trem Eco-tourism Area is open to visitors, it still retains the pristine, tranquil beauty of the forest. Every path and every stream here has a rustic character. There are no bustling games, no noise, but instead, there is peace in the middle of nature.

Although time changes everything, Song Trem still quietly maintains its gentle, rustic character. This place is not only a destination for those who love nature, but also a place to find simple, peaceful things.

And when you leave, your heart will be filled with something dear, as if you had just passed through a dream - a dream called the Southern forest land.
