Tam Thanh Community Art Village, Tam Thanh coastal commune, Tam Ky city, Quang Nam was inaugurated and put into operation in 2017, with two main art products: the mural village and the art painting road on basket boats.

The village was awarded the Asian Landscape Award in 2017 by the Asian Landscape Awards Council. In 2023, the village will be officially recognized as a tourist destination.

Every year, the commune government has a program to promote artistic products, inviting artists to paint murals on the walls of houses and basket boats.

This year, the program at Tam Thanh mural village takes place over 10 days.

The program includes activities of creating murals, paintings on boats, baskets and production tools (such as pots, jars, roofs), creating sculptures, installations, displays... to enrich artistic products serving the goal of tourism development.

There were about 120 people participating, including volunteer artists from Hanoi and other provinces and cities across the country, artists from Tam Ky City, the City Education Fine Arts Club and Tam Ky City Youth Union.

The artists painted 20 murals on the walls of local houses, 33 on basket boats, 50 oars, and many sculptures, installations, and displays. The artists also created works on locally produced items donated by local people such as jars and oars.

Paintings on basket boats, production tools, sculptures and installations will be displayed and arranged in Ong Oi slope, Ong Du slope, Tam Thanh eyes and the village entrance area in Hoa Ha village. Meanwhile, mural paintings will be created on the walls of houses in Hoa Trung village.

Artist Vu Hai said he has participated in painting murals here many times. This time returning to the village, he will create works with the idea of ​​​​being close to the people, easy to understand, and colorful.

Many students also come here to show off their painting skills on the walls.

Mr. Vo Quang Han - Vice Chairman of Tam Thanh Commune People's Committee - said that the program to develop artistic products at Tam Thanh Community Art Village this year focuses mainly on sculptures and installations. These are two products that are highly appreciated by tourists and locals.

"This year's theme reflects the life of fishermen in Tam Thanh sea area in the most authentic way, with unique and familiar products to serve tourists when they come to this land" - Mr. Han said.
