The Vietnamese team said goodbye to 5 players: Hoang Thai Binh, Bui Tien Dung, Nguyen Huu Son, Duong Van Hao and Dinh Thanh Binh. Among them, Bui Tien Dung is the most surprising name. He is a familiar face of the Vietnamese team under coach Park Hang Seo. In the June training session, Bui Tien Dung was called up but did not play in both friendly matches.

Hoang Thai Binh, Duong Van Hao, Nguyen Huu Son are new recruits of the Vietnam team. However, they have not been able to compete for a chance to be on the registered list. Dinh Thanh Binh's elimination is not surprising as coach Troussier has many better strikers at his disposal.
