Coach Shin Tae Yong leaves the position of vice president of the Korean Football Association

The Korea Football Association has officially confirmed that Shin Tae Yong has resigned as vice president. The decision was made after the 54-year-old strategist was appointed as the new head coach of K-League 1 club Ulsan Hyundai.

On August 6, a representative of the KFA announced: "Ulsan coach Shin Tae Yong has resigned from his position as vice president of the 55th executive committee of the federation."

Previously in April, KFA President Chung Mong Gyu appointed Coach Shin Tae Yong and Coach Park Hang Seo as vice presidents. Mr. Shin's task is to be in charge of foreign affairs and international cooperation.

Meanwhile, Mr. Park is responsible for supporting the Korean national teams at all levels.

However, late last month, Shin Tae Yong emerged as a leading candidate for the Ulsan head coaching job.

According to Yonhap News Agency, when the appointment process took place and was officially confirmed, he realized that he could not perform well at the same time as a senior official of the KFA. Therefore, he decided to resign to devote himself to his new job at the club.

The 54-year-old strategist is very determined to lead Ulsan after a period of farewell to Indonesian football.

“When I first received the offer from Ulsan, I was very happy but also felt a lot of pressure. I will devote all my abilities to restore the glory of the team,” coach Shin Tae Yong shared on the day of his inauguration.
