At the invitation of the Korean side, the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) established a Vietnam U18 reserve team to train and prepare for the training trip and friendly matches at the Seoul Eou Cup 2025 taking place at the end of September.
The core of U18 Vietnam includes players who just participated in the 2025 U17 Asian Cup, such as goalkeeper Hoa Xuan Tin, defenders Nguyen Hong Quang, Le Tan Dung, midfielders Dau Hong Phong, Nguyen Van Khanh, strikers Hoang Trong Duy Khang, Nguyen Van Bach, Nguyen Thien Phu.
Leading the U18 Vietnam team is coach Yutaka Ikeuchi, a new expert signed by VFF in February this year. He previously served as technical advisor and supervisor of the U17 Vietnam team at the 2025 AFC U17 Championship.
Vietnam U18 will gather and practice at the Youth Football Training Center (VYF) from today (August 25) to September 19, before moving to Korea.
The Seoul Eou Cup 2025 will take place from September 21 to September 28 in Seoul, with the participation of Seoul FA (selection of Seoul's best U18), K-League U18 All Stars (selection of K-League U18), Gangneung Jungang High School - the reigning champion of the Korean High School Championship, Kanto University (Japan), U18 Johor Darul Ta'zim (Malaysia), U18 Buriram United (Thailand), U18 Zhejiang (China) and U18 Vietnam.
With a squad rich in potential, the Vietnam U18 team promises to have a positive performance in the tournament, while accumulating more international competition experience to serve important goals in the future.
