Hai Duong proposes to provide 2,630 additional doses of measles vaccine

Hai Duong Department of Health proposed to provide additional measles vaccines so that the locality can continue implementing the vaccination campaign, increase the vaccination coverage rate, and ensure community immunity.

The Hai Duong Department of Health has just requested the Department of Disease Prevention and Control, the National Institute of Hygiene and Epidemiology (Ministry of Health) to provide an additional 2,630 doses of measles vaccine to continue the measles vaccination campaign. The additional doses of vaccine will be given to 1,020 children aged 6 to under 9 months, 970 children aged 1 to 5 years and 640 children aged 6 to 10 years in the coming time.

At the end of the measles vaccination campaign in late March, the whole province had 9,573 children vaccinated, reaching a rate of 95.27%. Of which, the measles vaccination rate for children from 6 to under 9 months old reached 90.33%, children from 1 to 5 years old reached 97.14%, and from 6 to 10 years old reached 97.08%.

From January 1 to early April, the province recorded more than 500 cases of measles. The age group infected with measles is mainly children under 10 years old, most of whom have not been vaccinated or have not been fully vaccinated.
