Two Vietnamese teams fall into a difficult group at AFC Champions League Two 2025-2026

(NLDO) - The draw results for the 2025-2026 AFC Champions League Two group stage put Nam Dinh up against Gamba Osaka, Cong An Ha Noi in the same group as Beijing FC.

The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) held the draw for the 2025-2026 AFC Champions League Two group stage on August 15. Vietnamese football has two representatives participating, Nam Dinh Club - the current V-League champion and Cong An Ha Noi Club - the 2024-2025 National Cup champion.

The 2025-2026 AFC Champions League Two brings together 32 clubs to compete, including 16 teams from the Western region and 16 teams from the Eastern region. Nam Dinh FC is in Group 2 with BG Pathum United (Thailand), Macarthur FC (Australia) and Selangor FC (Malaysia). Meanwhile, Hanoi Police FC is in Group 4 with Eastern (Hong Kong - China), Persib Bandung (Indonesia) and Tampines Rovers (Singapore).

The Eastern region draw results put Hanoi Police in Group E, along with Beijing FC (China), Macarthur FC (Australia) and Tai Po FC (Hong Kong – China). Nam Dinh is in Group F with Gamba Osaka (Japan), Ratchaburi FC (Thailand) and Eastern FC (Hong Kong – China).

The remaining groups in the Eastern region include Group G with the participation of Bangkok United (Thailand), Selangor FC (Malaysia), Lion City Sailors (Singapore) and Persib Bandung (Indonesia); Group H with FC Pohang Steelers (Korea), BG Pathum United (Thailand), Kaya FC-Iloilo (Philippines) and Tampines Rovers FC (Singapore).

In the West region, Group A brings together Al Wasl FC (UAE), Esteghlal FC (Iran), Al Muharraq SC (Bahrain) and Al Wehdat (Jordan). Group B has Al Ahli SC (Qatar), PFC Andijon (Uzbekistan), FC Arkadag (Turkmenistan) and Al Khaldiya SC (Bahrain).

Foolad Mobarakeh Sepahan SC (Iran), Al Hussein (Jordan), Mohun Bagan Super Giant (India) and Ahal FC (Turkmenistan) are in Group C. Meanwhile, Group D promises to be exciting with Al Nassr Club (Saudi Arabia), Al Zawraa SC (Iraq), FC Istiklol (Tajikistan) and FC Goa (India).

The 2025-2026 AFC Champions League group stage will take place from September 16 to December 24, 2025. The round of 16 will be held from February 10 to 19, 2026, and the quarter-finals from March 3 to 12. The semi-finals will take place from April 7 to 15, and the final will be on May 16.

Last season, Nam Dinh also participated in this tournament, winning 11 points in the group stage with 3 wins, 2 draws and 1 loss. In the round of 16, the team from Nam Dinh stopped at Sanfrecce Hiroshima (Japan) when they lost with a total score of 0-7 after two matches.

This season, Nam Dinh and Hanoi Police have both prepared carefully in terms of expertise and personnel, determined to affirm the position of Vietnamese football in the continental arena. With strong investment, fans expect the two representatives to leave a strong impression and advance deep in the AFC Champions League Two 2025-2026.
