First discovered by Reddit user Freaktheclown said that after installing iOS 18, iPhones will display a slow charging warning when it detects that users are using a slow charger to charge their iPhones. Additionally, the battery graph will also show information about when users are using a slow charger to charge their phones, highlighting the duration in orange in the graph.
Using slow charging will get reminder from iOS 18
Freaktheclown discovered the slow charging warning when this Reddit user used a 5W charger to charge his iPhone 15 Pro Max. According to the disclosure, tapping the information button next to the Slow Charger warning opens a non-existent support article.
This article will likely be updated once the iOS 18 update is publicly released. Also, it’s unclear what charging speeds will cause the slow charging warning to appear.
The iOS 18 update also adds another detailed change related to battery charging. Specifically, in the Settings app, users will see more options to set limits in the charging section of the battery settings menu. Previously, Apple only allowed users to set the charging limit at 80%, but with the iOS 18 update, users can now choose from more detailed charging limits, increasing from "80% limit" to 85%, 90%, and 95%.
New charging limit on iOS 18 is currently limited to iPhone 15 models only

This is to protect the health of the iPhone battery and give users more freedom to choose the maximum charging limit. However, this new feature is still exclusive to the iPhone 15 series, which will be released in 2023. The iPhone 14 Pro models and earlier will not have this option.
Many users have expressed their approval for the additional charging options, but the model restrictions have left them wondering why older iPhones aren’t getting the benefit. Additionally, the 5% increments have led some to ask why they can’t set it to something else, like 82%, 91%, or 99%.
