On the morning of August 20, the Hanoi Department of Education and Training held a conference to summarize the 2024-2025 school year, deploy tasks for the 2025-2026 school year and launch an emulation campaign to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2025).
At the conference, Mr. Tran The Cuong, Director of the Hanoi Department of Education and Training, said that in the near future, many activities and events will take place in the capital, especially military parades, marches, and preliminary and final rehearsal programs, to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day, September 2.
Therefore, on the morning of August 20, the Department reported to the leaders of the City People's Committee and was approved to allow some schools in the inner city to temporarily close to ensure traffic conditions, help the parade, march as well as traffic management to be smooth and safe.
“During those days, Hanoi is expected to welcome a large number of people from all provinces and international visitors. In addition, there will be forces participating in parades and marches, and motor vehicles moving in the area. Therefore, it is expected that schools in the area along the routes where the parades and marches pass or schools in the inner city will temporarily let students off. This period is not officially the new school year, schools will only gather students to carry out activities at the beginning of the year, ” said Mr. Cuong.

According to Mr. Cuong, the Department is calculating for all public and private schools in the inner city to temporarily close for 3 days: August 21, 24 and 27. "Actually, it includes August 30, but this day coincides with the September 2 holiday schedule for students that the Hanoi Department of Education and Training announced earlier," said Mr. Cuong.
“Other schools in the suburbs can join in the school gathering activities to witness this great national event together,” he added.
Mr. Cuong said that this afternoon, August 20, the Hanoi Department of Education and Training will have a document guiding schools on this matter, so that they can join hands and take practical actions to celebrate the country's major events.
The Department has also directed schools in the inner city, especially those on the parade route, to open their doors to provide free restrooms and rest areas for everyone and visitors during the event.
