Google is looking to fix the Gemini AI model

Last week, Google paused the use of a tool that generated images of people with inaccurate features. CEO Pichai told employees in a memo that some of the tool’s responses were offensive to users and showed bias.

“Our teams have been working around the clock to address these issues. We’ve seen significant improvement… And we’re going to look at what happened and make sure we fix it at scale,” Pichai said.

Google now plans to restart Gemini AI in the coming weeks. The news site Semafor first reported the news, which was later confirmed by a Google spokesperson.

Since the launch of Microsoft-backed OpenAI's ChatGPT in November 2022, Alphabet-owned Google has been racing to create a rival AI software.

They released the Bard chatbot a year ago. Earlier this month, Google renamed it Gemini and rolled out paid subscription plans to get better inference capabilities from this AI model.
