In her report at the workshop, Vice Principal of the Central Pedagogical College Nguyen Thi Thanh said: The project "Developing Preschool Education in the period of 2018-2025" clearly stated that "Preschool education is the first level of the national education system, laying the foundation for physical, intellectual, emotional, and aesthetic development, forming basic personality factors for children before entering first grade.

Taking care of preschool education development and ensuring that all children have access to quality, fair and equal preschool education is the responsibility of all levels, sectors, each family and the whole society.

Recognizing that preschool education is the first level in the national education system, playing a particularly important role in laying the foundation for the comprehensive development of children, Deputy Minister Ngo Thi Minh said: In recent years, Vietnam's preschool education has made significant progress, contributing to improving the quality of human resources, meeting the requirements of the country's socio-economic development.

However, besides the achieved results, preschool education still has some limitations, such as: facilities and teaching equipment are still lacking, not meeting the requirements of educational innovation;

The quality of the teaching staff is still limited in terms of professional qualifications, expertise, and pedagogical skills;

Educational methods are still heavily pedagogical, failing to promote children's positivity, initiative, and creativity.

To overcome the above limitations, the Deputy Minister said that it is necessary to innovate and create towards sustainable development in preschool education.

The Deputy Minister noted that it is necessary to innovate educational programs and content towards comprehensive development, suitable for the development of Vietnamese children in the context of international integration. Educational content needs to be integrated, incorporated, and linked to real life, promoting children's positivity, initiative, and creativity.

Educational methods need to be innovated in a child-centered direction, with play activities as the main focus. Teachers need to be organizers, guides, and supporters of children's learning and development. Facilities and teaching equipment need to be innovated in a modern direction.

Emphasizing that teachers are an important factor determining the quality of education, the Deputy Minister suggested that it is necessary to innovate the teaching staff in the direction of improving professional qualifications, expertise, and pedagogical skills to meet the requirements of innovation in preschool education.

The assessment of educational outcomes also needs to be innovated in a diverse, flexible direction, suitable to children's development.

According to Deputy Minister Ngo Thi Minh, to innovate and create in preschool education towards sustainable development, there needs to be close coordination between relevant levels, sectors, organizations and individuals.
