The winners of the men's and women's singles titles at the 2025 US Open will each receive $5 million out of a total prize pool of $90 million, which tournament organizers say is "the largest prize money in tennis history."

The prize money for the men’s singles champions is up 39% from 2024 (previously $3.6 million). The total prize money is up 20% from last year’s $75 million. By comparison, the total prize money at Wimbledon this year was $71 million, with the men’s and women’s singles winners each receiving $4 million.

Players who lose in the first round at the US Open will receive $110,000, up 10%. Earlier this year, the world's top 20 men's and women's players wrote to the four Grand Slam tournaments demanding a greater share of major tournament revenue.

The total prize money for the men's and women's doubles at this year's US Open will be $4.78 million, up 23% from 2024. Tournament organizers also said that for the first time, the winners of the men's doubles, women's doubles and mixed doubles will each receive $1 million in prize money.

Tournament organizers will also provide $5 million to cover costs, including travel and other expenses, for players participating in the main draw. In addition, prize money for men's and women's qualifying will increase by 10% to $8 million. The 2025 US Open is scheduled to take place at Flushing Meadows from August 24 to September 7.

Italian tennis player Jannik Sinner is the current champion in the men's singles. Belarusian tennis player Aryna Sabalenka is the current champion in the women's singles. Both continue to be the most promising candidates for the title this year.
