Domestic gold prices fell this morning
Domestic gold prices adjusted down following the downward trend of world prices at the end of last week. SJC gold bar and gold ring prices usually decrease slower than world prices.
This morning, the world gold price unexpectedly recovered, contrary to forecasts. At 8:45 am Vietnam time, the world gold price was at 3,266 USD/ounce, up about 25 USD/ounce compared to the previous session. However, the gold price is still trading below the 3,300 USD/ounce mark and far below the historical peak of 3,500 USD/ounce.
Previously, analysts said that gold prices had been continuously falling for the past two weeks and would be unlikely to increase again in the short term. However, as soon as trading opened, the precious metal continued to increase. Gold prices have become unpredictable and volatile in recent times, as they fluctuate according to information related to the US-China trade negotiations; US economic data and the USD.
The USD index is currently trading around 99.7 points, recovering significantly over the past week. The world gold price converted according to the listed exchange rate is around 103.2 million VND/tael.
