Notably, with this model, Apple sells it at a lower price than the previous 8GB RAM version.

Also in the launch, the M4 series chip is equipped on the 14-inch MacBook Pro, 16-inch MacBook Pro and Mac mini.

Equipped with a powerful M4 chip, the newly launched Mac mini is priced from only 12.5 million VND, affecting older generation devices running M3 chips that are sold as 100% new machines.

According to market research, the MacBook Air M3 with 8GB RAM costs about 25.5 million VND, 3 million lower than at the beginning of November.

According to information from some authorized Apple dealers, the 14-inch Macbook Pro, running on the M3 chip (RAM 16GB - 1TB) costs around 44.5 million VND; the 14-inch MacBook Pro, running on the M3 Pro chip (RAM 36GB - 1TB) costs 65 million VND; the 14-inch MacBook Pro running on the M3 Max chip (RAM 36GB - 1TB) costs 75 million VND. The above M3 chip series machines are discounted by 4-6 million VND.

Mr. Nguyen Tuan Thanh, owner of a business selling Apple products in Ho Chi Minh City, said that the launch of Macbook and Mac mini lines using M4 series chips has caused the prices of Macbooks running M3 series chips to drop sharply.

"In particular, the 16-inch Macbook Pro line running on M3 Max chip, 48Gb RAM, 1TB memory has dropped by 10 million VND, the current market price is only from 76 million VND," Mr. Thanh revealed.

Launched 4 years ago, the Macbook line running the M1 chip was launched by Apple in 2020 with a price of 24 million VND. Now, with the new form of the machine, it has also dropped to the mid-range computer segment, when the MacBook Air M1 256GB 2020 version is only over 18 million VND.

This line is also the most affordable Macbook that supports Apple Intelligence and will be stable for the next few years.

At the end of the year, when shopping demand increases, the price of laptops from Apple is expected to remain stable.

According to Mr. Vo Thai Anh, working at a Macbook retail store in Dong Da district (Hanoi), Macbook models running M chip currently have very good prices, as well as a fairly stable supply, so there will be no worries about price increases at the end of the year.

In early 2025, Macbook prices will also decrease slightly, but not significantly.

The manufacturer said all three versions of the Apple M4 Series chip are manufactured on the second-generation 3nm process to improve performance and optimize power consumption compared to its predecessor, the Apple M3 Series.

Combined with a Neural Engine core cluster that is twice as fast as the previous generation, the Apple M4 Series promises to deliver the ability to quickly process AI-related tasks/features (more specifically, the Apple Intelligence artificial intelligence system).

The Apple M4 features a CPU with up to 10 cores (4 high-performance cores and 6 power-efficient cores) that delivers up to 1.8x faster performance than the M1.

Apple M4 Pro is equipped with a CPU of up to 14 cores (including 10 performance cores and 4 power-saving cores). This processor has CPU performance 1.9 times faster than M1 Pro and 2.1 times faster than Intel Core Ultra 7 258V).

Apple M4 Max has a CPU up to 16 cores with 12 high-performance cores and 4 power-efficient cores. The CPU performance of M4 Max is 2.2 times faster than M1 Max and 2.5 times faster than Intel Core Ultra 7 258V.
