Surprise, emotion and happiness were the first emotions that teacher Hoang Minh Diep - the owner of the photo shared when she learned that her very ordinary image was being spread all over social networks.

Ms. Diep is currently a kindergarten teacher at Minh Chuan Primary and Secondary School (Luc Yen, Yen Bai). The school has 3 levels from kindergarten to secondary school. Her house is opposite the school gate, so during the days of heavy rain and floods, Ms. Diep is one of the first people to update the school situation.

Minh Chuan Primary and Secondary School is located on the banks of the Chay River, and is nearly 2 meters lower than the road level, so it was deeply submerged in floodwater. Immediately after the water receded, Ms. Hoang Minh Diep rushed to the school to check the situation. Witnessing the scene of the school destroyed and covered in mud and dirt left by the flood, Ms. Diep could not help but feel heartbroken.

“Seeing the children's desks, chairs, books and school supplies being swept away by floodwaters and submerged in mud, I was helpless and didn't know what to do,” the female teacher shared, choking with emotion.

Taking advantage of the time to clean up her house, Ms. Diep and some colleagues and people nearby immediately moved to the school. Everyone tried their best to clean up, push the mud out of the classrooms, and quickly fix the damage so that students could return to school soon.

During a break to eat a pack of raw instant noodles, Ms. Diep was photographed by a colleague using her phone, then posted on the school's fanpage to record the memorable moment. A few days after the storm, the electricity and water problems had not been resolved, the phone signal was unstable, the female teacher had no idea that she had become "famous" on social media.

A picture without makeup, without posing, covered in mud, surrounded by a scene of devastation, but the strong, healthy appearance and optimistic demeanor of the female teacher, moved everyone who saw it. People called it the resilient beauty of the People's Teacher. Many people even gave her compliments and compared her to the beauty of a beauty queen.

“ I was born into a farming family, and have been familiar with the fields and mud since I was a child, so I did not mind cleaning up the school after the flood. Not only me, but the other teachers too, everyone devoted themselves to the common cause,” Ms. Diep said, adding that she was very touched by everyone’s affection, but did not dare to accept those honors for herself.

According to Ms. Diep, due to the severe consequences, the amount of cleaning at the school is very large, she and her colleagues will certainly be a bit tired.

However, the female teacher always kept an optimistic spirit, because after the natural disaster, all her relatives, colleagues and students were safe. For her, that was the greatest happiness, all other difficulties could be overcome.

Entering the education industry in 2019, for nearly 5 years now, young teacher Hoang Minh Diep has always overcome all difficulties and fulfilled her assigned tasks well.

Currently, Ms. Diep is an excellent teacher at the district level. However, her love for her job and children always urges her to strive harder, for a bright future for children in the highlands.
