Galaxy Z Flip7 will use Exynos chip

Since their debut, Samsung's foldable phones have been exclusively powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon chips. However, that's about to change.

Samsung officially named the Exynos 2500 chip during its earnings call a few months ago. The tech world expected Samsung to use this chip for the Galaxy S25 and S25+ in markets outside of China, North America, and South Korea. However, recent reports indicate that the number of chips is not enough to equip the Galaxy S25 series.

The source previously revealed: Samsung Foundry's 3nm yield is said to be too low for them to produce the Exynos 2500 at the scale required by the mobile division, so the company has to buy the expensive Snapdragon 8 Elite chip for the Galaxy S25 series and the Exynos 2500 chip will be equipped for other models.

A report from The Elec claims the Galaxy Z Flip7 will be powered by the Exynos 2500 chip - this has been confirmed by a Samsung Electronics executive.

Samsung is reportedly planning to produce 3 million Galaxy Z Flip7 units - accounting for 1% of Samsung's annual sales. The Z Fold 7 and Z Flip7 are expected to launch in mid-2025, giving Samsung enough time to improve the yield of its first 3nm flagship chip.
