Ericsson will deploy the 5G network for Viettel in Hanoi, the Northern regions and the Central provinces. At the same time, Ericsson will also modernize the 4G network for Viettel in the above geographical areas.

Ericsson's Radio System portfolio of advanced technology solutions will help enhance Viettel's network capacity, ensuring fast and stable 5G deployment, bringing high-speed connection experience to customers nationwide.

Ericsson and Viettel will cooperate to develop innovative 5G applications, building an ecosystem for application developers.

Viettel is also ready to reallocate existing frequencies to New Radio (NR) technology, thereby sharing the 2600 MHz band for 4G and 5G NSA (non-standalone) networks. At the same time, it provides directions for the deployment of 5G SA (Standalone) networks in the future, opening up opportunities for development and provision of new services.

In addition, Ericsson and Viettel signed a memorandum of understanding to promote the deployment of 5G in Vietnam. The two parties will cooperate to develop innovative 5G applications, build an ecosystem for application developers in Vietnam, to create advanced, safe and reliable solutions based on 5G technology.

Ericsson and Viettel will focus on key areas of cooperation such as 5G network slicing to provide specialized connections, supporting developers through sharing network APIs and knowledge of advanced technologies. This initiative will not only promote the commercialization of 5G in Vietnam but also contribute to national economic growth by leveraging the potential of Industry 4.0 applications.
