Dong Tien is a highland commune with over 320 households and over 1,200 people, mainly K'ho people. Implementing the National Target Program on New Rural Construction, in recent years, the commune has actively promoted and mobilized people to respond with State investment resources and mobilized other resources, especially mobilizing people to contribute funds, donate land... to build irrigation works, traffic works and other works in the commune.

Mr. K'Van Goa - Chairman of Dong Tien Commune People's Committee said: Up to now, Dong Tien Commune has met 16/19 criteria, the remaining 3 criteria have not been met (10, 11, 13). Particularly since the beginning of the year, the commune has met 2 criteria No. 17 (environment) and No. 5 (school). Up to now, school facilities have been invested in spacious, clean and beautiful, contributing to improving the quality of education in the highlands. Regarding the environment, people collect and dispose of garbage according to regulations; the rate of households using clean water is 317/320 households, accounting for 99.06%; the rate of households with toilets, bathrooms, and hygienic water storage equipment and ensuring 3 cleans accounts for 85.63%...

Currently, Dong Tien commune has 3 unmet criteria. That is criterion number 10 (income), in 2022 the income will reach 40 million VND/person/year (the new rural standard in 2022 is 44 million VND). Criterion number 11 (multidimensional poverty), currently the whole commune has 29 poor households, accounting for 8.66%, near-poor households have 83 households, accounting for 24.77%. Thus, the total rate of multidimensional poverty households and the rate of multidimensional near-poor households in the whole commune is still high at 33.43%, while the new rural standard is below ≤5%. This is also a big difficulty and obstacle for the commune to achieve this criterion. In addition, indicator 13 (production organization) is still facing difficulties. Although at the end of 2021, Dong Tien Agricultural Production and Service Cooperative was established to link the consumption of products for farmers, because this work is still new, it has not been effective.

According to Chairman of Dong Tien Commune People's Committee K'Van Goa, in the last months of 2023, the commune will focus on striving to achieve the remaining 3 criteria (income, poor households, production organization). In particular, pay attention to promoting propaganda and launching the emulation movement "Joining hands and hearts to build new rural areas" for the period of 2021-2025 associated with the campaign "All people unite to build new rural areas and civilized urban areas". Deploy capital sources to support production, agricultural extension models from the rice land support fund according to Decree 35 of the Government, the production development support fund under the National Target Program on New Rural Construction and the capital source of the National Target Program on Sustainable Poverty Reduction approved by the District People's Committee. At the same time, consolidate and expand cooperation models in the chain from production to product consumption between enterprises and farmers to improve productivity, quality, efficiency, and increase income for people.
