The 2024 Doan Ngo Festival falls on June 10. From early morning, roast meat shops on Bui Huu Nghia Street (District 5) had many people lining up to buy roast chicken and duck to display on the family altar.

Every store was packed with people, many people couldn't wait and ordered technology drivers to buy things for them.

Most customers have to wait 15 - 30 minutes to buy roast meat.

Prices on Duanwu Festival are no different from normal days, around 450,000 VND/roasted chicken or duck.

Staff arranged the sales area right next to the sidewalk to serve customers more easily.

"District 5 has many famous and delicious roast meat shops. I come here every year to buy. Even though I have to wait because it's crowded, the service staff is very quick and professional" - Ms. Nguyen Thi Ly (living in District 8) said.

At around 9am, customers lined up to buy meat for the Duanwu Festival. According to many people, because the offering trays had to be set up before 12pm, everyone tried to buy early.

Roast meat is prepared and delivered before the worship time of the pre-ordered guests.

A person breathed a sigh of relief after finishing his shopping, squeezing through the crowded crowd to go home to set up the Tet offering tray.
